SAME ORIGINAL INSIDE
MORE ECO-FRIENDLY OUTSIDE

Pilsner Urquell may have evolved its bottles and cans design but everything else has remained exactly the same, continuing the brand’s deep a long-standing respect for nature and traditional brewing methods dating back to 1842.

One of the most important changes of Pilsner Urquell´s new packaging is the removal of plastic labels and aluminium foil from our bottles. These elements have been replaced with a 100% recyclable paper.

WHAT DID WE CHANGE

BEFORE

By removing all the aluminium foil we have globally saved the 48.4 tonnes of aluminium per year. That is about 820 kegs of beer!
We have removed plastic label at the bottom so globally 57.6 tonnes of plastic will be saved every year. That is the weight of more than 45,000 perfectly poured Pilsner Urquell hladinkas!

AFTER

We have never changed our original brewery. That’s why the new gold cap on our bottles celebrates the original brewery gate in Pilsen.
We’ve dialled up the embossing to ensure our original message is highlighted and the new glass feels more premium and crafted.
We´ve removed all non-eco-friendly materials and replaced them with 100% recyclable paper labels that are better for the environment.
