Consider visiting the Pilsner Urquell brewery in Plzeň, where we’ve brewed the original golden lager since 1842. This is the only place in the world where you can drink unpasteurised, unfiltered Pilsner Urquell in our cellars and relax at our brewery restaurant, the largest in the Czech Republic.
We offer tours in several languages just about every day of the year. On the tour you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at our brewing process, learn more about the heritage of our beer, and find out how Josef Groll came to brew Pilsner Urquell in 1842.
One of the best parts of the tour is when you get to walk through our underground cellars. This is where we parallel brew, fermenting and lagering Pilsner Urquell the old-fashioned way, in oak barrels just like we always have. At the end of the cellar tour you’ll get a chance to taste some of this unfiltered and unpasteurised golden lager. Trust us, you’ve never had a better beer!
All that exploration will work up an appetite, and we’ve got just the thing. Our brewery restaurant, Na Spilce, is located in what used to be part of the old fermentation cellars. It’s also the biggest restaurant in the Czech Republic, capable of seating around 700 people. They serve delicious, authentic Czech food and of course the beer couldn’t be fresher!
