“I WON THE TAPSTER COMPETITION IN HONG KONG!”

I enjoyed entering the first ever competition in Hong Kong. My mentor is Suraj – who is our main mixologist – who helped me alongside James Addison. The prize was to go to Korea for the Olympics and then come to Plzeň. In Korea it’s the coldest I’ve ever been but it was a privilege to be there! I think Stockton is one of the best bars in Hong Kong. It is mostly a cocktail and whisky bar – but we only serve one beer: Pilsner Urquell. It’s a speakeasy bar – dark and comfortable. It has a hospitable and welcoming vibe and it’s known for the quality of the drinks. I’m the first Tapster born in Nepal. The Nepalese are similar to the Czech people – they are straightforward, friendly and fun-loving! A Tapster must have a smiling face and be welcoming, and of course they must take care of the beer. I try to know everything. After all I touch the beer more than I touch my girlfriend’s hand!

If you were a beer, what beer would you be?

I’d be a Kozel Premium lager. I’m shy at first with a soft flavour. As you get to know me I am more jolly. It has a funky taste. The finish is soft. It is a mark of respect.
